We feature High Quality Stable Sit In touring kayaks that are 12-15ft long. Single kayaks hold one person and can hold up to 275lbs(persons/cargo) Tandem Kayaks can hold up to 550lbs or 3ppl(3rd person must be 70lbs or less) Tandem Kayaks may be paddled solo also. We can move the front seat to the center of the kayak and it can be paddled solo. Paddling a tandem kayak is excellent for anyone that wants to fish as you can carry all of your tackle and gear. Also if o you are over 225 lbs we can set the tandem kayak up for you to paddle solo as well.
Contrary to popular belief KAYAKS are WAY MORE STABLE than Canoes.
(Please note that when you prebook a 4hour kayak rental, you are booking a specific block of time to use the kayak / canoe. If you would like a more flexible option, please choose a Daily kayak rental. A daily kayak rental allows you to arrive whenever you choose and utilize the Kayak for up to 8 hours during the day reserved(kayak must be returned by 5:30PM)
We allow well behaved leashed dogs in kayak rentals(Tandem Kayaks only) at Kayak Starved Rock Campground location(must sign pet waiver) Dogs over 40lbs may ride as a second passenger in a tandem kayak. Dogs under 40lbs may ride as a 3rd passenger in a tandem kayak.
Please Note: We Do Not allow drugs/alcohol in any rented kayak
